Well......it's been a year , unbelievable. Sometimes the days move so slowly ,but then before you blink a week or month has gone by. I don't know how much growth has happened in the year, I just know that processing, longing , change and acceptance is part of the deal...but everyone's journey of grief is unique and soley their own. John and I don't let many days go by without a text, sometimes it's just one emoji, we know that we are here for each other and we reinforce that. Keep watch please , as John enters year two , because sometimes as strong as we are, we can be just as un strong. It's all just a moment at a time. You are missed girl ~~๐Ÿ˜… Rest peacefully!

I learned that today is your Born Day. I know all too well that everyday is different for your mom , John, Spence and all that loved you, but these kinda days and these kinda memories are hard to escape from. They linger and they follow you. It's tough to process that the world still spins on its axis, yet it feels ( at times ) our personal sphere has lost its momentum. It's difficult to pick up the torch and carry on. Just want you to know, we re all trying, trying to keep watch over John, trying to pick up that torch. Happy Born Day in Heaven ! Rest Easy girl !๐ŸŽˆ

Denise, my friend/family, I am in disbelief that you are gone. We didn't have to speak everyday to be close. Holidays won't be the same for you always provided something special. A gift, something cooked, whatever needed. Looking at all your photos you always had a big smile. In my travels and spa trips, I will always keep you close. Know that your local family will keep watch for you (you know what I'm saying). I will go forward and always keep you in my heart. Goodbye my friend -- R I P

You are like a second sister and will be missed as so.
As part of the Spencer family, no words can express my sense of loss and emptyness. As I send this hug with you, please pass it on to Jack and Celestine who have gone before you. You will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
Enjoy your new wings. The soldiers left will eventually be stronger and will carry on๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน

Tomorrow is promised to no one. We do not have all the time in the world. My dear big sister although we didn't grow up together you have always been my sister. I cherish the few time we did get together and being able to chat from time to time. I just wish we had more time. I will miss you D.

I knew Denise through a friend of her extended family but you couldn't tell, as her greetings and general warmth always made me feel a part of the group. Only the good die young is not a clichรฉ when you can attribute it to someone as warm, friendly and genuine as Denise. I will miss the inclusiveness that I always got from her at events and even the occasional bumping into on the Streets of midtown. God Bless Denise and my sincerest condolences to John and her mother.

I will remember how much she loved baked goods, and how appreciative she was about the cupcakes I brought in at our department potluck. It was nice to see how much she enjoyed them.

Tate,

I sit around and wonder,
and watch the days go by.
I look at all the pictures,
and ask, why did you have to die?

You've always been there for me,
because you were my friend,
and I was always there for you
until the very end.

But now it's time to let you go,
your spirit now is free.
Even though you won't really be gone,
because you'll live inside of me.

So when we have to leave you
at your resting place,
I will always remember
your smiling, beautiful face.

This is hardly a goodbye,
so I won't weep anymore,
because now you're in better place
then you ever were before.

Even though I will miss you,
and I'll think about you everyday
you'll always be my friend,
and that's all I have to say.

Love Always
Gayle

Last November, 2016, I was given the project of collecting a big bunch of HBO posters to send to several Time Warner subsidiary locations. Denise allowed me to work with her and we spent a lovely time together one day in the "poster vault". I have decided to write this condolence posting because this is such a vivid, wonderful memory that it seems as if it just occurred yesterday. I had never met Denise in person before that day. She was so easy to speak with and I enjoyed her company so much! I found just being in her presence emotionally soothing; she lifted my spirits and made me laugh! She mentioned how happy she was that her kitchen renovation was to be completed with the installation of her new stove in time for Thanksgiving. I recall how much she was looking forward to cooking for everyone. She spoke lovingly about her husband and her mother. After the holidays, I saw Denise in passing in the HBO hallway and asked her how it (i.e., the holidays) went for her and cooking on her new stove in the kitchen. She was so delightful and enthusiastic about it! Few people have had that impact on me after just a few hours. I will miss seeing and speaking with her. I believe Denise was a rare, very special and kind person and being aware of how much she loved her mother, husband and family, I am sure that her prayers in heaven will be felt by those who are still on earth whom she cared for so deeply. May she rest in peace in the company of Godโ€™s Holy Trinity, the angels and all the saints. May the Lord be generous in surrounding all her family, friends and co-workers with His peace and comfort at her loss.

Although I only had the pleasure working with Denise a few months I can say she was a light. On my first day she offered advice about lunch and how to get around the office. I will miss her voice coming over my right shoulder and the bright smile that greeted me every day. Hey baby girl she would say! She will be missed and I know that the great spirit she was will live on in all of us! I have no doubt God has her resting in His arms.

Denise had such a huge personality. She was filled with so much joy and light. She was instrumental in helping to maintain a harmonious and positive environment at work. I loved hearing her stories after she came back from her amazing vacations. I will miss her enthusiasm that she displayed whenever she was asked to plan an event it was her forte. She loved our impromptu birthday celebration with our tight knit group. I hope Denise's home away from home was a pleasure to come to everyday. She will be missed. Her big smile and her big laugh. Love you and miss you Denise. RIP

So sorry to hear this news - you will be greatly missed! Just a few weeks ago we were talking about your upcoming trips and family wedding event. I will miss your yearly spa week recommendations and our vacation talks. It's going to be hard to walk by your desk and not see that bright smile. Sleep in peace.........

To the Family,

While I recognize that whenever there is a loss, it is something that one will never get over. However, as I also recognize that there is God who is still seated on His Throne, He is also a God of Comfort. May you allow Him to embrace you with His Comfort in a way that only He can provide as you process this loss in your time of bereavement.

Denise,

I will missing running into you on the side of the Grace building and being met by your bubbly "Hey Darlin" greeting and a hug---before we caught up on all the HBO and life stuff!

I always loved hearing about your vacations and that Denise is a comfort to me, because although your life was short lived --you "Darlin " lived it to the fullest!

You are missed. Deepest condolences to your Family.
