In Our Community

We are grateful for every opportunity we have to serve our neighbors in this unique and special place.

Because of our unique role in shepherding families through the process of grief, we know that we are more than just a business; we are a key part of the local community, and that’s a role we take seriously. We are honored to serve our neighbors during seasons of mourning and loss, and to provide comfort through uncertain times.

Since this community has been so supportive of us over the years, we believe strongly in giving back, remaining visible, and doing our part to promote the community’s wellbeing. We encourage our employees to volunteer their time in ways that serve their neighbors, and we delight in working closely with local caregivers, veterans, first responders, clergy, hospices, and charities. In short, we empower our employees to make a positive difference in the local community.

Giving back is part of what we do, and community involvement is intrinsic to our business model.

September 29, 2019: Hispanic Heritage Celebration

Please join us on Sunday, September 29th for the Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration being held at St. Brigid’s School Parking Lot. The Latino Council of the Village of Westbury and Westbury Arts put on this event each year, and Donohue Cecere Funeral Directors is a proud sponsor. And this year, our own Liz Wallace will be in attendance. Please stop by and say hi!

The Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration was held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the St. Brigid’s/Our Lady of Hope School lot and it certainly was a great day! There was free traditional Latin food, music, games and activities for the kids. Donohue Cecere is a proud supporter of the annual event, and our own Liz Wallace attended and interacted with guests and visitors, including village executives, and members of the Latino Advisory Council. Liz spent time speaking about our commitment to the large Hispanic community in Westbury and the surrounding area, and discussed ideas which would be beneficial to the community. Thanks to everyone who came out and helped make the day such a success.

Donohue Cecere Funeral Directors was proud to once again be the sponsor of the very popular Balloon Bust Raffle, which helps raise money for the programs and revitalization efforts of the BID. Our own John Fitzpatrick is the current President of the BID. Westbury Senior Center: 11th Annual Golf Outing

The Westbury Senior Center is a wonderful organization in our community that we are always proud to support. We had a great time Wednesday playing in their Eleventh Annual Golf Outing at Towers on the Green, and we even won a few Chinese Auction baskets. It was a picture perfect day!
