Dr. Ursula Decker passed away, at home, on Tuesday, July 2. Ursula was 89 years old. She was born in New York City where she was raised by her parents Barney Branigan and Eileen Harrington-Branigan. Ursula earned her undergraduate degree at Hunter College and her graduate degree at St. John’s University. She later earned her doctorate at the University of Sarasota. Ursula was a teacher and worked for the Mineola School District for 30 + years.
Ursula was married to Gene Decker for 63 years. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Beran and Nancy Ekloff, son-in-law Bjorn Ekloff and grandchildren, Briana, Bianca, Blaine, Brittany, Bryan and Shane. She is lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Miriam Chmielewski, brother-in-law Jerry Decker and sister-in-law Jeannie Decker.
