Ruth Anne Brennan passed away peacefully on November 15th, 2022 at the age of 57. She lived all of her life in Westbury, NY. Predeceased by her father, Thomas E Brennan Sr., her mother, Ruth C. Brennan, and her brother, Thomas E Brennan Jr. (Sharlene). Cherished sister of James (Noreen), William (Loree), Jean (Bob), Chris (Dave), John (Eileen), Geraldine (Danny) and Robert (Jayne). Beloved Aunt to seventeen nieces and nephews. Loving Great-Aunt to nine nieces and nephews.
Ruth Anne resided for many years in The Westbury House, a group residence that is run by Family Residences and Essential Enterprises (FREE). Through the years she shared that home with her housemates, Allison, Barbara, Debbie, Kerry, Marcy, Nancy and Shannon and more recently with Natasha and Desiree. Together they were a family and they loved and cared for each other as such. Thanks to FREE, and all of the wonderful staff at The Westbury House, Ruth Anne lived a fulfilled life. She learned to take public transportation to her jobs, traveled extensively, participated for many years in the Special Olympics (track and snowshoe racing), and was a member of two theater programs. In her time off Ruth Anne enjoyed bowling, hook rugs, wordbooks, 50s and 60s music and was an avid Mets, Jets and NY Rangers fan.
Ruth Anne was very personable and instantly loved everyone she met. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. Ruth Anne was absolutely the life of the party and was always the first person on the dance floor. Ruth Anne was our Little Star, the light of our family and will be missed beyond words. However, we take solace in the fact that she is now in Heaven with her dad, mom and brother Tom. You’re in our hearts forever Ruthie, we loved you so so much.
In lieu of flowers donations in Ruth Anne’s name to FREE would be appreciated. http://www.familyres.org
