Tribute

Rosemary McCarthy (née Crowley) 89 passed away peacefully April 25, 2020 leaving behind her beloved husband of 52 years, James McCarthy both longtime residents of New Hyde Park.  Treasured sister to Quentin Crowley (Cindy) and pre-deceased by Charles Crowley (Belinda), Rosemary prayed for and wrote faithfully to her brothers while each served during war time. Cherished “Aunt Mimi” to Barbara Buscemi (Mel), Donna Greason (Kevin), Kimberly Schroter (John) and John Crowley (Nancy) along with many great nieces and nephews. Rosemary herself had a long and successful career at AT&T.  After retiring, she joined and served as Program Chair of the Community Center of Garden City and Hempstead. Rosemary was a rare mix of kindness, caring and true love. She enjoyed people, always greeting everyone with a welcoming smile and sharing a hug with those she loved most.  Rosemary enjoyed entertaining, cooking for family and friends, playing bridge and traveling with her husband Jim, always by each other’s side and blissfully happy together.  Rosemary’s final resting place will be beside her wonderful parents Marie & John Crowley and with her brother Bertram at Holy Rood cemetery in Westbury. In lieu of flowers, donations to Little Sisters of the Poor.  Memorial services to be announced at a later date.
