Tribute

During these very trying times we at Donohue Cecere Funeral Home want to assure you that we have taken every precaution to provide a safe environment for you and your loved ones. Our location is cleaned and sanitized daily and we continue to follow best practices for social distancing and safety.
In accordance with Executive Order 202.17 (which requires any individual over age two, and able to medically tolerate a face-covering, be required to cover their nose and mouth with a mask or cloth face-covering when in a public place) we are required to follow this mandate or risk being shut down; therefore, all individuals entering our funeral home will be asked to wear a face mask or cloth face covering.
As of the latest update we are able to offer limited visitation periods in the funeral home for family and friends up to 40 people per session. Please be mindful when visiting during these sessions to limit the amount of time spent at the funeral home. This will give the opportunity for other family and friends to visit.
Robin Miller of Canton, GA, formerly of Westbury, NY, passed away Monday August 23, 2021 at Assured Hospice Care. Cartersville, GA, surrounded by her loving children. She was 88 years old. Robin was born August 7, 1933 in Bronx, NY to Esther Lockard and Meador Peyton St. Clair. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles in 2010, her brother Peyton St. Clair, and her sisters Eleanor Nesbitt and Virginia Chase.
She married Charles R. Miller on September 12, 1953, and together raised 7 children in their home in Westbury, NY. They were faithful members of the Westbury United Methodist Church. It was there where she developed lifelong friendships that brought her great joy. In her later years she attended Parkway Community Church in Hicksville, NY. She loved music and spent her whole life singing in the church choirs. She was a loyal and loving friend to all who knew her. She was kind and compassionate, selfless and giving, a friend to all, filled with laughter and a great sense of humor. She loved reading stacks of books and made a weekly pilgrimage to the East Meadow Public Library, until her eyesight failed in recent years. She was a member of the East Meadow Bowling League for over 50 years. She was a avid baseball fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers (who she never forgave for moving out of New York!), and later the New York Yankees. She worked as a secretary for Utica Mutual Insurance Group. She was loved by all her neighbors in New York, as well as her friends and staff at the Arbor at Bridgemill assisted living facility in Canton, GA. She will always be cherished and remembered by her smile and laughter.
She is survived by her children, Laurie Mesch, Karen Lipera (Frank), Suzanne Barroso (Mario), Rev. Esther Vitale (Marc), Jennifer Mahon (John), Charles Miller (Jennifer) and Scott Miller; her grandchildren Marilyn, Rachel, Mario K., Michelle, Michael, Samuel, Grace, Elijah, Sarah, Sophia, Emma, Breanna, Charles, Neemah and Kahyu; her great grandchildren, Laila, Dakota and Michael; her niece Annie Nesbitt Lohri and many other nieces and nephews.
