Richard R. Lagnese

Richard Ralph Lagnese, Sr., or “Pop” as so many loved ones called him, has passed away on June 4th, 2020 at the age of 67 years old. He died the way he lived: on his terms. He went peacefully with dignity after a long battle with cancer.

Richard was born on April 10th, 1953 in Mineola, NY to Michael and Rose Lagnese and his two brothers Michael and Thomas. He grew up in Westbury, NY and was the “true king of Long Island”. He was a man of many talents and had so many passions and hobbies. He had a long career as a Hospital Administrator spanning over 35 years. His profession of Engineering and love of music took him near and far working and performing at cities around the country. As an avid golfer, experienced boater, and motorcycle enthusiast, Richard enjoyed living the good life and shared his passions, successes, and knowledge with family and friends. He was a true “Renaissance man” and lived life to the fullest every single day.

He is survived by his wife Joanne, his children Richard Jr. and Nicole, Anthony and Jennifer, Jonathan and John, Nicholas and Katie, and Alex, as well as his 5 grandchildren Gionna, Dominic, Vincent, Alexa and Luca.

Due to the COVID pandemic and current social restrictions, there will be a private burial ceremony on Saturday, June 6th, 2020 at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, NY for his immediate family. We will honor Richard’s life with a memorial celebration in the near future.
