Patricia M. Larkin

LARKIN, Patricia M. age 79, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2021 in Towson, Maryland. Patricia was born August 6, 1942 to the late Richard and Gilda (Costaldo) Paetow of New Hyde Park, NY. Patricia received a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University in New York, studied Education at Hofstra University in New York, and studied French Language and Literature at the Sorbonne Universite in Paris, France. She touched the lives of over one thousand students as a beloved elementary school teacher for 39 years at Woodward Parkway Elementary School in Farmingdale, Long Island. Over the years she taught French and the third and fourth grades. She was a long time resident of Manhasset and Jericho on Long Island in New York and, for the last several years, lived in Ellicott City in Maryland. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Manhasset, Long Island. Patricia was a dog lover her entire life. She received great joy from her dogs over the years including Fifi, Gretal, Mandy, Dudley, Archie, Max, Bosley and Phoebe. She was an amateur pianist, avid reader and enjoyed traveling. She rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy and was a fierce competitor in Uno, at the Scrabble board and in table tennis. Above all, Patricia was a doting and loving mother and grandmother. Nothing brought her greater joy in life than her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son Christopher Larkin of Tamarac, Florida, her son Jonathan Larkin and his wife Christina Sfakianos and their two children, her grandchildren, Penelope and Hudson Larkin, all of New York City, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in memory of Patricia M.
