Margaret Mary “Peggy” (Weldon) Loiacono, of Ivoryton, Connecticut at age 99. Peggy went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2021. Peggy was born in County Louth, Ireland on August 21, 1922. She came to The United States and met and married the love of her life, her beloved husband, the late Francis Nicholas “Nick” Loiacono. They resided in Plainview,
New York, and raised five children, Elizabeth (Betty) Loiacono, Maureen Butler (Paul), Mark Loiacono (Jeanann), Mary Margaret Zisa (Steven), and Kevin Loiacono (Lisa).
Peggy was the beloved grandmother, known as Nee Nee, to Danny, Meghan, Erinn, Caitlin, Kayla, Craig, Katherine, Thomas, Sara and Alana. She had ten loving great grandchildren, Sadie, Hattie, Lea, Ben, Owen, Will, Tallula, Adele, Elisa and William.
Peggy will always be remembered for being in her favorite place, her kitchen, cooking wonderful meals, baking anything from her famous Irish Soda Bread, Christmas cookies to beautifully decorated doll cakes and wedding/occasion cakes. Mom knitted cozy sweaters for her children and grandchildren. She also had a green thumb and grew beautiful flowers in her gardens.
Peggy loved her faith and we know she is up in heaven looking down and smiling at all of us.
Our Mom will always be remembered for all of her talents, and her Irish wit and laughter. She will be missed by all of us
