Kathleen P. Beiter

BEITER, Kathleen P. (nee Krug) of Westbury, NY, formerly of Jackson Heights, NY, on June 18, 2018 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late John. Cherished mother of Diane Beiter of Westbury, NY, Janet Nuccio (Douglas) of New Hyde Park, NY, and Melissa Schector of Massapequa, NY. Loving grandmother of Christopher Ramirez, Marc and Elizabeth Nuccio, David and Matthew Schector. Dear daughter of the late Peter and the late Mary. Sister of the late Marjorie Merrill and the late Ann Mallon and cousin of the late Father John Murphy.

Kathleen was born on June 8, 1927 in Jackson Heights, NY to Peter and Mary (nee Healy) Krug. Here, she was raised with her two sisters Marjorie and Ann. Kathleen was an excellent student and graduated from high school with honors. During high school, she worked as an usherette in a movie theater. After graduation, she began working as a secretary. Kathleen held several jobs throughout her career, including working for Prudential Insurance Company and Eastern Newspaper Supply, where she met her husband. Kathleen and John were married on July 23, 1955 in Queens, NY and soon moved to Long Island. The couple had three daughters, Diane, Janet and Melissa. Kathleen cared for her children at home until they were old enough for her to return to work. She and John were together until his death on March 5, 1986.

Kathleen, whose nickname was Mickey, loved to travel, as well bowl and do ceramics, throw parties and shop. She enjoyed being with her five grandchildren, Christopher, Marc, Elizabeth, David and Matthew every Sunday. Kathleen also enjoyed music, cooking, sewing and crossword puzzles. She loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Reposing at Donohue Cecere Funeral Home, 290 Post Ave., Westbury, NY 11590 on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Brigid’s RC Church, 50 Post Ave., Westbury on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Interment following in Holy Rood Cemetery, 111 Old Country Rd., Westbury, NY.
