Isabelle W. Esposito

ESPOSITO, Isabelle (nee Ward), of Bennington VT, peacefully passed away in her home on May 15, 2020 due to natural causes at the age of 97+ years old. Beloved wife of the late John Ralph Esposito. Loving mother to Linda Hunter (Dave), John (Carol), and Carl. Cherished grandmother of Lauren (Cummings), and John Robert, and adored great-grandmother of Alexandra and Cole Cummings. Fond aunt of Lucy and Benji. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Ben. Isabelle grew up in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn, moved to Williston Park and then Uniondale before “retiring” to Bennington. She graduated high school at the young age of 16, at which time she entered Cornell University (Class of 1942) where she received a B.S. in horticulture. She worked in the drafting department at General Electric for several years. Primarily raising her family in Uniondale, she was actively involved in the family’s construction business, was a dedicated member of the local homemakers extension and was a faithful congregant at the Merrick Community Presbyterian Church. Isabelle was an avid jigsaw puzzler, along with enjoying Sudoku, the NY Times crossword puzzles, gardening and arts & crafts. She often wondered why she was hanging around for so long. But especially to her family, it was not long enough. Words cannot express the wonderful individual that Isabelle was to everyone. Kindness, patience, and thoughtfulness were just a few of her many attributes. She taught each of so much ... and for that, we are all forever grateful. We’ll miss her so much. A private service will be held at Donohue-Cecere Funeral Home in Westbury followed by burial at Holy Rood Cemetery.
