Celebrating the Life and Legacy of

Francine “Buffy” Scibelli

Francine Scibelli, affectionately known as “Buffy”, was born on December 20, 1964 in Plainview, New York.  Buffy was the youngest of 4 children of the late Severino Scibelli and the late Frances Buffalino-Scibelli.  On Thursday April 4, 2019 Buffy was given angelic wings to join her Father Sam (who just passed 5 months earlier), Mother Frances and Sister Gina in heaven.

Buffy received her holy confirmation at St. Brigid’s Church in Westbury, New York.  Buffy was educated at the Church of the Advent and graduated from Jericho High School.  Buffy loved being with family and friends.  Buffy was always en vogue, and always careful that her family and friends didn’t commit fashion faux pas when they were in her company.

Buffy had several special relationships: her fashion relationships included: Chanel, Versace, Vuitton, Burberry, Prada & Gucci; her relationship with animals included: Mink, Sable, Fox & Chincilla; her relationships with places included: Cancun, Italy & Key West; her relationships with fine fragrances included: Dolce & Gabbana, Jimmy Choo, Juicy Couture & Paul Sebastian; her relationships with nature included: the Beach, Sunrises & Sunsets.

Buffy had a zest and passion for life and people.  Everyone that met her liked her magnetic personality.  There are many adjectives to describe Buffy – smart, witty, kind, a confidant, socialite, fashionista and gregarious.  Her presence would light up the room.

Buffy loved football and family, fashion and friends, traveling and spending time with the people she loved.

Of all the places Buffy travelled, our hearts was the most important to her.  Of all the things she enjoyed/experienced, our love was dearest to her.  Amongst other things, Buffy will be remembered for her sense of fashion, warm personality, love of God, family and friends, humor, blunt and candid advice, honest opinion, beautiful smile and laugh.

Buffy was preceded in death by her parents Severino Scibelli and Frances Buffalino-Scibelli, sister Gina, and Dee Dee who was her 2nd mother.

Buffy leaves to cherish her legacy and beautiful memory: her 2 loving siblings – Joe and Angel; Angels children – Michael Torelli, Frances Torelli & Sammy Torelli; Gina’s son Michael Rhodes; Jack Flannery who was her 2nd father; her other sisters – Denise, Patricia (Michael) Antonello, Michele (Doug) Costantino; her nieces – Angelina, Allie & Maddie Costantino; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family also wishes to thank all those that supported the family during this difficult time.

The family would like to leave you with Francine’s favorite poem:

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me

When tomorrow starts without me,
And I’m not here to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
Are filled with tears for me;

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things
We did not get to say.

I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you’ll miss me too;

But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came down and called my name,
And took me by the hand,

And said my place was finally ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I’d have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
I had so much to live for,
And yet so much to do,

It seemed almost impossible
That I was leaving you.
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday,
I thought for just a while,
I’d say goodbye and kiss you,
And maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized
That this could never be,
For the emptiness and memories
Would take the place of me.

So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I’m right here in your heart.
