Amado Rayos del Sol

Amado Rayos del Sol passed away peacefully Sunday, February 7, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. He was 84 years old. He was born in Taytay, Rizal in the Philippines on August 27, 1936 to Manuel and Lucia. He is the eldest of 9 children. He is a devoted husband for 57 years to Elisea, father to the 7Rs, grandfather to 12 and great grandfather to 1. Amado was a businessman after working as a bank manager in the first part of his career. He enjoyed basketball, jogging, watching jeopardy and action movies, eating out, and story telling. He mostly enjoyed serving as a lay minister at the Edsa Shrine in Manila for many years. A memorial mass to commemorate Amado’s life will be held on February 19, 2021 at St. Brigid’s R.C. Church at 50 Post Avenue in Westbury NY at 11:00 am. Interment following the funeral service will be at Holy Rood Cemetery at 111 Old Country Rd.
