Anne Marie Paul

Anne Marie Paul, also known as “Corky”, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister known for her warmth and wisdom. She peacefully passed away on April 6, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York at the age of 82. She was born on December 15, 1941 in Cap-Haitian, Haiti to the late Elie Bernard and Elvecia Elveus. Anne Marie immigrated to the United States in 1979, where she met her husband Pierre Paul. Throughout their 42 years of marriage, they went on to have two beautiful children. Anne Marie worked for a company called Uniflex for over 25 years.

Outside of work, she devoted her life to both her family and her church. Anne Marie truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She found great joy in cooking, traveling, spending time with family, and watching NBA basketball. If she wasn’t in church or enjoying time with her family, she could be found spending countless hours in her kitchen or watching her favorite basketball player, LeBron James. One of Anne Marie's most cherished traditions was preparing her famous Haitian dishes during family gatherings. Her culinary skills were not just about the food; they were a labor of love that brought everyone together and created lasting memories. She was an active member of her church community, where she volunteered her time and talents to support various charitable initiatives. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she instilled its values in her children and grandchildren.

Anne Marie had an amazing way to reach people in a deep and positive way. She will be survived by her children Patrick Paul and Marie Paulette Dorsainvil; her grandchildren Elijah, Ethan, and Evan Dorsainvil; her son-in-law Bob Dorsainvil; countless nieces and nephews; and her siblings Delius Bernard, Apolon Bernard, Paul Henri Bernard, Gabriel Bernard, Pasteur Hilaire Bernard, and Guillaine Cherizard.
