Ann Loverso passed away at age 93 on April 8th 2024, surrounded by her family.
Ann was born on November 8 1930 to Rose and Joseph Battaglia, the youngest of 4 children. While living in Brooklyn, she met and married Frank Loverso, where they raised 3 daughters. In 1974 they moved to Long Island.
Ann was an intelligent, contemporary woman, always ahead of her time. She was known for her impeccable taste and always carried herself with sophisticated style. Ann was an excellent cook who abhorred processed foods, she was a naturalist. She would say “ If you want your car to last, you had better fill it with fine oil”!
Ann enjoyed a long career with the New York Racing Association, traveling between three racetracks. She also enjoyed August in Saratoga where the family would visit. It was here that she collected $2 dollar bills for her Grandchildren.
It can be said that her first career was family.
She encouraged her daughters to take chances in life and to experience things they enjoyed.
Her love and affection for her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren had no bounds.
Each child can still recite the many nursery rhymes she taught them, some in French. She also shared with them her love of reading.
Ann is survived by three daughters,Joanne, Diane and Carol. Also, six Grandchildren (Frankie, Suzanne, Joseph, Jennifer, Heather and Emily )and seven Great Grandchildren. She was deeply loved by extended family and friends.
